Hi, my name is Angel Wyrwas. I know firsthand that we live in a "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" kind of place. While this may serve us well in many areas of frontier living, it is not helpful when it comes to our mental health. Our lived experience is uniquely our own and inherently valid. No one else has walked through this world with our exact combination of challenges, perspectives, identities, and circumstances. I believe it is important to honor and respect people's stories. Mental health therapy can be a powerful space for validating your lived experience and guiding you to a more satisfying life.
With an extensive background in rural mental health, I am keenly aware of the issues facing many Montanans. My areas of specialty include suicide prevention, grief, adolescent well-being, personality and mood disorders, and people adjusting to changes in their lives.
A good therapist doesn't try to rewrite your story—they help you explore it, understand it, and honor it without judgment. I want to help you make sense of your emotions, recognize patterns of behavior or relationships, and develop healthy ways of coping with stress, trauma, or difficult life transitions using a tailored approach to fit your needs and pace.
I work in collaboration with clients, first building a foundation of trust. Then we design a treatment plan with specific goals and consistently work towards those, changing them as needed. The client will direct the pace of their therapy. Most of my clients feel a gradual lifting of symptoms early in their treatment and sustained improvement thereafter.
Change begins when we have the support and understanding to choose the path that lies before us. Having a space to unburden yourself, name your feelings, and explore your reactions to life can promote real healing. I invite you to reach out to begin this new and rewarding adventure.
